14th Annual Non Profit Conference

What a day I had today!
Started early and attended the 14t Annual Non Profit Conference today - good stuff!

Lisa and I attended together and had the great good fortune to have lunch with a 70+ year old woman who has a life time of experience and is interested in mentoring us as we start our NP.
She is still active at the organization she and her husband founded: R.O.A.R. She shared many inspiring and cautionary tails.

I was especially inspired and impressed by the keynote speakers - what accomplished women!
One, works for Ashoka Fellows, an organization I had not heard of before today - but what amazing work they do - Check them out here at youtube.

The day ended with attending Lisa's first public hearing meeting as Commissioner Chair for Edmonds' Compensation Commission. The meeting held interesting conversation about the potential salary adjustments for Edmonds' elected officials - nitty gritty - more good stuff!

As I wrap up the day Mark and I are feverishly tap tap tapping on the key board, both saying that we need to STOP and go to bed.....so, I'll post more later.

Good stuff no doubt. I like ROARs mission. I've often thought that helpful information is out there for people knocked down, but they just hadn't run into it.
